Smith Mission Mips Snow Helmet
There is the gear you need and there is gear you love. The Smith Mission ski and snowboard helmet is both. Its lightweight design offers zonal Koroyd® for enhanced energy absorption in the event of a crash. Because you head to the mountain in all conditions, adjustable vents let you dial in the climate control. And because we live in a connected world, it has audio compatible ear pads. It’s lined for instant comfort, and you can fine tune the fit with the adjustable dial.

MIPS is used to reduce the rotational forces to the brain in the case of an oblique impact. Smith helmets are created to absorb direct impacts very efficiently and when combined with MIPS, Smith helmets absorb oblique forces better by allowing a small rotation of the outer shell relative to the liner.

When you fall to the ground at an angle rotational forces are generated. A helmet integrating MIPS technology creates a sliding layer between the outer shell and the head. This allows the helmet’s outer shell to slide relative to the head when hitting the ground, so the rotational force is decreased, reducing the potential to damage your brain.

Koroyd® provides superior impact absorption, design flexibility, and ventilation when compared to materials traditionally used in helmet construction. By utilizing crumple-zone cylinders that crush uniformly on impact, Koroyd® manages energy more efficiently with less volume than any other protection material on the market. Unlike traditional protection materials, Koroyd® cylinders absorb and convert more kinetic energy, while increasing airflow and reducing overall weight. Not all helmets are created equal.

How To Measure The Helmet Size
To determine your helmet size, you will need to measure your head as follows:
Take a soft measuring tape and wrap it around your head about 1 inch above your eyebrows and ears. Most helmets are measured in centimeters, so unless you love calculations, measure your head in centimeters. For example, if you measure the circumference of your head, and it is 56cm, you will wear a 55-57 cm helmet. Also, If the helmets come equipped with a sizing dial located at the rear of the helmet. With the turn of a dial, you get even, fine tuning adjust-ability to make sure that your helmet fits as snuggly and comfortably as possible.
Don’t have a soft tape measure? Take a piece of string and wrap it around your head, and then measure the string.
